Rockapulco…

Leicalady and I decided to take a day off this weekend. We packed up the truck with the bare necessities, flipped a coin on which dog to take (Sky won) and we were on our way shortly after 6 AM. We truly love the Texas coast – it is only a two-hour drive for us- which makes a day trip very possible! We fell in love with Rockport thirty years ago. Rockport is a state of mind as much as it is a place. Located between Aransas and Copano Bays,  Rockport is a quintessential Texas Gulf coast city, offering a wide array of beaches, seafood and ocean-view accommodations for visitors to enjoy. Outdoor activities are paramount for most guests and few will be disappointed, with fishing, boating and other aquatic attractions readily available. Rockport is a thriving artist community – the Rockport Art Center provides a gallery space that represents the artists who live in the area and compliments the annual Rockport Art Festival held each July. It has been several years since we last visited the coast – I am not sure who was more excited – Leicalday or Sky! Anyway, we were surprised to see the wind farms that blanketed the land not far from Rockport…

These windmills were huge...

Leicalady, Sky and I went for a nice long run along the bay as soon as we arrived…we enjoyed the scenery, birds and friendly people as we jogged…Sky got really hot (how would you like to run in a fur coat??) so we stopped several times to cool her off in the shade and a drink of water. Sky talks about the trip in her own blog here. Leicalady visited a cute little bead store, Jack in the Bead Stalk. We really did nothing but relax. It was a nice break…Sky is ready to go back soon…

Soaking up the rays...

Just chillin'...

Come back soon Leicalady & Leicaman...

  1. That was fun! Spooky would have made it a little less relaxing!
