Good-bye Houston Streeet Fair…

The City of San Antonio has budget restraints and unfortunately, the Houston Street Fair is a consequence. That did not stop Leicalady, Moye ,Sherman and I from having one last hurrah walking and enjoying the sights and craftsmen of the last scheduled street party. As usual there was always something for the kids to enjoy, this little guy was having a ball riding the mechanical bull…hs1The theme for the event was “animals”. I really did not think that I would see any surprises knowing of all the menagerie that we have at the Rockin’P. However, this ring-tailed Lemur caught my eye…hs4His handler was from the exotic zoo north of San Antonio called the Snake Farm. They are under new ownership and  are currently broadening their appeal with a greater variety of animals…

We were excited to see our favorite vendors, Claudia and Sandra. They were of course very busy, but continued to work on their handmade bracelets, necklaces and accessories…hs7Moye and Leicalady had fun looking at EVERYTHING…IMG_2629Leicalady got a helping hand from yours truly with her new “Peace” necklace…DSC02028Leicalady could have been a model…hs5Leicalady and Moye enjoyed watching all the little animals but mostly the piglet…hs6Leicalady and I strolled back to the car via the San Antonio River and of course Leicalady had to get her “duck duck” fix…IMG_2653It was a great afternoon with Moye and Sherman. We will always have fond memories of the Houston Street Fair and hope that as the economy improves the City of San Antonio will consider bringing it back…
